The powerful Music Man standard neodymium humbucker and the 18-powered Volt 3-band tone control also provide a detailed and variable sound reproduction, while the low B-string is perfectly reproduced. Last but not least, the Music Man StingRay 5 Special uses lightweight Music Man custom lightweight bass mechanics and a steel Music Man Vintage top load bridge specially developed for this model.

Classic wood selection with high playing comfort
The Music Man StingRay 5 Special RW Chopper Blue is based Music Man on a classic wood selection, which guarantees a crisp and balanced reproduction from the low H to the high G string. Accordingly, the five-string has a body of light ash and an extremely stable neck of roasted maple, whose rosewood fingerboard carries 22 stainless steel frets in "High Profile, Wide" format. With the optimized lines of the body, the bass also lies comfortably on the body, while the "C" neck profile with its wax/oil finish lets every groove go off easily.
Music Man Neodymium humbucker and 3-band tone control
The electric sound conversion of the Music Man Sting Ray 5 Special RW Chopper Blue is performed by a Music Man standard neodymium humbucker specially developed for this model. Its powerful magnets guarantee a powerful and defined reproduction of all strings. The Humbucker coils can also be called up in three different combinations via the 3-way blade switch. The parallel circuitry delivers the typical StingRay sound with a tight bass foundation and brilliant highs, while the serial mode provides an extremely powerful sound with high assertiveness. In addition, a filtered series circuit is available, which provides a slim tone with single coil character. The active 3-band tone control, which has an enormous headroom thanks to 18 Volt power supplies, also allows the sound image to be precisely adjusted.
Lightweight hardware equipment
Last but not least, the Music Man StingRay 5 Special RW Chopper Blue convinces with hardware equipment perfectly matched to the electric bass. The headstock is fitted with Music Man custom lightweight mechanics in the typical "4+1" arrangement, which guarantee precise tuning and counteract top-heaviness by using lightweight materials. The Vintage Top Music Man Load steel bridge also sits on the body.

It is high quality instrument, everything I have expected from Music man StingRay. A new thing for me, it is very light weight for a 5 string StingRay.
