Noise Engineering Polydactyl Versio Black at a glance
Polydactyl Versio from Noise Engineering is a stereo multiband dynamics processor that literally elevates any Patch to a new Level. The unique and transparent algorithm from Librae Legio has been incorporated into Polydactyl Versio and applied to three bands to achieve maximum dynamics. The module masters compression, expansion, limiting, Noise gating and saturation from soft to hard, so it has all the necessary tools to give sounds and beats the perfect post-processing over a wide dynamic range. There are two controls per band: Ceiling increases the level of the signal fed into the dynamics processor and provides more aggressive limiting, Room is a bipolar control, turn the knob to the left and the signal is expanded, turn the knob to the right and it is compressed. The working range of the three bands is preselectable by toggle switch, so the module can tackle different audio material equally well. Cut refers to the Noise gate: not at all, moderate and aggressive are available here, so depending on the CV and input level used, hack effects can be implemented. No matter whether the techno Mix should be hard limited or the sound collages from the experimental patch should be gently adjusted, with Polydactyl Versio at the end of the signal chain this is easy to realize.
The Noise Engineering homepage gives access to the "World or Versio" page, where you can find alternative firmwares and write your own firmware for a module of the Versio series.
