Innovative guitar from the Ultra series with the best features
Lyrachord body, spruce top and scalloped X-bracing produce a tone that invites you to dream
Structure and sound
The characteristic Lyrachord body made of fibreglass-reinforced plastic is an absolute innovation in guitar making. Combined with the mid-depth arching, it creates a warm, voluminous sound that is complemented by the solid spruce top and bright tones. In addition to the solid construction of the top, the Scalloped-X bracing used here provides the necessary assertiveness that guarantees a strong stage presence. With this type of bracing, the top rail is ground down deeper in the middle so that it offers less resistance. The top can therefore vibrate better, which allows a free development of the sound.
A clever construction and optimized dimensions make playing the guitar extremely comfortable
Playability
In addition to its beneficial influence on the sound characteristics, the Mid-Depth curvature gives the body an absolutely player-friendly shape. The curvature perfectly hugs the upper body, which promotes a perfectly comfortable sitting posture. The khaya neck with fingerboard made of Indian laurel also contributes to high playability. With its C-profile and a slim nut width of 42.8 mm, it sits well in the hand and invites powerful strumming and refined flatpicking. Meanwhile, the die-cast tuners with ABS wings ensure smooth tuning and high tuning stability.
The in-house pickup system with tuner ensures a strong stage performance
Electronics
In order to be able to amplify the unique sound of the 1516 VRM-G, the guitar is equipped with the OCP-2000 pickup with K-21CT preamp. Both elements are new in-house developments whose performance is convincing in every respect. While the OCP-2000 delivers an immense punch, the K-21CT shines with defined mids, which are especially in a band next to drums and Bass optimally come into their own. In addition, a 2-band equalizer allows individual adjustment of bass and treble, while the integrated tuner guarantees a sound-assured performance at all times.
An elaborate finish and optical details tastefully round off the guitar
Design
The instrument is rounded off by its attractive appearance, which enhances any stage set enormously. The fancy Vampire Red metallic finish is a real eye-catcher. A harmonious image is achieved by the playful 'Fleur de nuit' rosette and the matching 'Fleur de nuit' inlay on the twelfth fret as well as bridge and fretboard made of Indian laurel. Another visual highlight is the classic Ovation headstock with brand lettering. These details result in the optimal choice for style-conscious musicians who want to deliver in every respect.
