Roland SP-404 MK II KDJ Records limited edition

The SP-404 MKII KDJ Records limited edition is a strictly limited special edition resulting from a collaboration with Roland and the Detroit cult label KDJ Records. KDJ Records was founded in 1994 by Kenny Dixon Jr, who is better known by his pseudonym Moodymann, and is now one of the style-defining labels in the techno and House sector. Fans of the Detroit underground sound are likely to have heard many of the label's releases before, as in addition to releases by Moodymann, works by Amp FiddlerJuan Atkins, "Mad" Mike Banks (UR!), Andrés, Rick Wilhite and Theo Parrish to the label catalog of KDJ Records. For this collector's item, Kenny Dixon jr. has opened his label vault and provided ten new and old tracks as samples and patterns:

Cult sampler with 17 velocity-sensitive pads

The KDJ Records limited edition is technically identical to the already available standard version of the Roland SP-404 MK II. With 17 velocity-sensitive pads, you have access to even more samples than with all its predecessors. The internal memory holds an impressive 16 GB and provides access to 2560 samples and 2560 patterns, spread over 16 samples/patterns x 10 banks and 16 projects.

The graphic display allows you to cut and edit sounds and Loops directly on the device. Inputs for microphone/guitar and line signals allow audio material to be recorded in the device, resampling is also integrated and finished sounds and Loops can be created as a new sample with the desired settings. In chromatic mode, samples can be played with a fixed pitch, which is particularly suitable for synth sounds.

The sequencer can be used to record beats and Loops with a length of up to 64 bars. Live functions such as Reverse and Roll provide the necessary variation when recording and jamming. The tempo of Loops is automatically recognized.
