With the Valvenergy series Vox presents a series of differently tuned overdrive pedals with an analogue tube preamp. The VOX Valvenergy Mystic Edge uses four Nutube tubes whose construction follows the structure of classic tube triodes and produces a warm sound rich in overtones with classic tube compression. In addition, there is a special OLED display that shows the waveform changes caused by the respective setting in real time. For professional applications in the studio and on stage, there are three switchable operating modes: Standard , Preamp and Cab Sim . Accordingly, standard guitar amps as well as power amps or interfaces can be connected without any problems. Fans of classic bell-like Brit sounds will get their money's worth with the Vox Valvenergy Mystic Edge. This compact pedal produces the sound of the coveted 15 or 30 watt combos and is ideal for classic rock sounds of the sixties and seventies . The Mystic Edge has a Bright switch to control the treble in the signal, providing the appropriate treble spectrum for both single coils and humbuckers.
This pedal is awesome! I bought it to add some power and dynamics to my set up for playing at my church. We recently switched to in ear monitors and my actual AC30 is just way too loud, I was hoping this would add the classic vox sound to a DI set up. Whilst it’s obviously not going to be as good as playing through a real valve amp, this certainly is the next best thing. Very happy with this purchase :)
