With the Boss Katana-50 MkIIModeling Amp, the Japanese effects giant has given the renowned guitar amplifier a well-deserved makeover, bringing with it extensive improvements in terms of sound variety and usability. Accordingly, each of the five amp models has a second voicing, while the effects section is equipped with dual pots, allowing five different effects to be used simultaneously. The sophisticated tube logic circuit with 50 watts of power amplifier output, together with the 12" Boss Katana Custom speaker, ensures powerful sounds with the authentic character of a tube amp. Last but not least, the Boss Katana-50 MkII offers an integrated USB audio interface and a headphone connection with natural-sounding speaker simulation.
The straightforward panel of the Boss Katana-50 MkII allows you to find the right sound quickly and intuitively.
Five amp sounds with high tonal flexibility
Central to the sound generation of the Boss Katana-50 MkII Combo are a total of five amp modes, which easily fulfill both classic and modern requirements. While the Clean mode delivers clear and transparent sounds, Crunch stands for a subtle overdrive. The Lead and Brown modes, on the other hand, push into higher gain regions and create the right basis for rock and metal styles. The Acoustic mode is also available for unadulterated amplification of electro-acoustic acoustic guitars. Each amp mode of the Boss Katana-50 MkII also has a second voicing, while the 3-band tone control allows the sound to be adjusted.
Extensive effects
The Katana-50 MkII amplifier is also characterized by an extremely flexible onboard effects section with two double-deck potentiometers and the reverb control, allowing up to five effects with a strong character to be used simultaneously. In addition to the booster for increasing the signal level, classic modulation effects, a Delay and other FX types are also available. Additional effects are also available for the Boss Katana 50 MkII via the revised Boss Tone Studio app.
Flexible tube-logic power amp and internal speaker
With 50 watts of power amplifier output, the Boss Katana-50 MkII Combo provides sufficient volume reserves, while the tube-logic circuit ensures the natural character and Drive of a tube amp. Using the power control switch, the output of the power amp can also be reduced in two steps to 25 watts or 0.5 watts, so that nothing stands in the way of its use in smaller clubs or even in your own living room. With a 12" Boss Katana Custom speaker, the Combo Amp furthermore delivers a powerful sound that brings the selected sound to life with detailed liveliness.
Boss Katana-50 MkII with a wide range of connections
Last but not least, the combo is characterized by a variety of useful connections that support the flexible use of the combo. Accordingly, the power amp-in allows the connection of Preamps or multi-effects, while the headphone connection enables silent electric guitar playing. Furthermore, the Boss Katana-50 MkII offers a USB connection for the integrated audio interface or connection to the Boss Tone Studio software. Last but not least, there are connections for optional footswitches or expression pedals to control the amp.

Most amount of fun I've ever had whilst playing guitar, great amount of features and incredible sound especially for the price, couldn't have asked for more, delivery and packaging was also incredible, my favourite purchase of mine so far!
What a fantastic piece of equipment. Tone controls are great for loads of good sounds and boss tone control centre is brilliant - best guitar recording experience I've had so far with the integrated USB output
After reading lots of reviews, this amp has not disappointed. Easy to use (and great sounding) out of the box and lots more to play around with when hooked up to the computer. Was supplied with an EU plug not UK, my fault for not checking.
