DiMarzio DP100 Super Distortion Nickel Cover at a glance
Before the introduction of the DP100 Super Distortion humbucker in the early seventies, there were simply no replacement pickups to buy. The Super Distortion (and the original three-wire version, the Dual sound) was the first pickup specifically designed to overdrive tube amps.
As the first high-gain pickup in history, it sounds fat, mid-range and loud with powerful bass. A sound that is known from countless recordings, as it is played by guitarists such as Ace Frehley, Al Di Meola and Paul Gilbert . One of the best all-round high gain pickups of all time!
