Focusrite's RedNet X2P is a compact and robust 2x2 Dante audio interface with two Red Evolution microphone preamps, stereo line output and a stereo headphone amplifier. This allows both Red- and all other Dante Audio-over-IP systems to be expanded with additional inputs and outputs. For operation you only need a Power-over-Ethernet switch or PoE injector, as well as an Ethernet cable to enable the transmission of audio data, remote control and power supply. The input mixer provides access to your own monitor mix. If necessary, however, access to various settings can also be blocked. In addition, two digitally controlled Red Evolution microphone preamplifiers were used, which convince with their clean sound, large gain reserves, stereo coupling, individual phantom power, a high-pass filter and phase reversal.
The so-called Air mode can be switched on, which simulates the sound of Focusrite's classic transformer microphone preamps if desired. The Red Net X2P studio interface converts signals with over 118 dB dynamic range, while the high-quality converters are calibrated to ensure the best mix of sound quality, dynamic range and latency. Another practical feature is a crossfader, with which the levels of the local input can be mixed with the network signals that go out at the line outputs or the headphones. In addition, the X2P can be easily mounted on a microphone stand so that it is easily accessible but not in the way.
