NS Design NXTa 4 Upright Bass Satin Sunburst

The NS Design NXTa 4 Upright Bass Satin Sunburst is an electric double bass with excellent playing and sound characteristics that are hardly distinguishable from a full-sized double bass. NS Design uses a neck-thru construction with neck and body made of maple, complemented by a chic flamed maple veneer for a dignified look and a hand-polished Richlite fretboard. The innovative Polar pickup system of the NXTa 4 not only offers separate arco and pizzicato modes with optimal string sensing for bow and finger play, but also an active preamp with optional passive mode. High-quality die-cast tuners with closed gears guarantee an exact and stable tuning of the NS Design NXTa 4 Upright Bass Satin Sunburst.

Dual Mode Output - The NXTa's new dual mode signal output electronics take the convenience, versatility and performance of the NXT to a new level.

Active Mode - Using the supplied charger, the NXTa can be plugged into any AC power outlet for 60 seconds and supplies power to the capacitor-driven active circuit for up to 16 hours of operation. The unit can then be plugged directly into any low or high impedance device without the need for a DI box. Since there is no signal loss across the entire frequency spectrum of the instrument, the fundamentals of every sound remain clear and powerful, even with extra-long cables.

Passive Mode - The NXTa can be played in this mode if a Direct Box or an amplifier with a high impedance input is used. (This mode offers features identical to the original NXT).

Eco-Friendly Operation - The NXTa instruments are battery-free, which eliminates the hassle and cost of batteries while helping to protect our environment.

Body - The solid maple body and neck with the graded fretboard deliver a rich, full tone that sounds true on every note. The asymmetrical fretboard relief allows an even "growl" on the higher strings and a clear, powerful low register. The adjustable bridge and truss rod allow for low, fast action or higher pitches that encourage the traditional acoustic player to "dig in" with momentum.

Strings - NS electric strings and most traditional acoustic strings fit all NS double basses, so the player can choose from a wide range, each string having a unique sound and feel. Combined with the easy setting of basic setup parameters, the NXTa Series bass is adaptable to many different musical styles.
