Roland V-Drum Pad in 12" with mesh head and two zones
The Roland PDX-12 Snare Pad is a 12"V-Drum Pad with double layer mesh head and two built-in triggers. The tension of the mesh head can be adjusted by means of a normal tuning key, and the hoop is modelled after an acoustic Snare. The two built-in triggers allow the individual separation of head and rim shots. Developed for the TD-17 module, it also works with all other Roland modules, but without position detection. A suitable cable is included in the scope of delivery.
I purchased this as an upgrade to my Octopad SPD-30 which I use for recording midi drums in to Logic. I wanted more sensitivity than the Spd pads provide and I have not been disappointed. The PDX-12 is a massive improvement and feels fantastic to play, picking up even the lightest of hits on the mesh or the rim which gives a vastly greater dynamic range than the pads. It’s a great size to play feels extremely well built and I would highly recommend.
Roland recommended this snare pad for my Octapad because aside from funk, soul and fusion I also play classic jazz tunes and I found it almost impossible to play decent rolls on the Octapad. The PDX-12 is exactly what I was looking for: a snare pad that comes very close to an acoustic one. Ordered on a Monday, delivered the next Wednesday in perfect condition! Well done Music Store!
