High-quality M/S signal processing with 120V technology
The SPL Gemini Black is a high-precision mastering M/S processor that enables M/S encoding and decoding in combination with SPL's own 120V technology at the highest sonic level. The targeted separation of mid and side signals means that individual mix elements can be precisely processed, allowing the stereo mix to be optimally adjusted in terms of depth, width and balance.
Control is via a clearly arranged control panel with high-quality, precise potentiometers and dedicated switches. The balance control allows the exact placement of the center in the panorama, while the trim control can be used to adjust the level ratio between the center and sides. The Stereo Width control can be used to fine-tune the width of the stereo image for a targeted spatial design. The sound always remains stable and distortion-free - even at extreme settings.
Maximum signal quality and flexible expandability
The fully balanced circuitry ensures clean and interference-free signal transmission. High-quality Switchcraft/Neutrik XLR connectors ensure a reliable connection in the studio. Thanks to the generous headroom of the 120V technology, the signal remains undistorted and free from distortion even at high levels.
Two independent inserts allow the targeted integration of external processors for processing the mid and side signals. These inserts are fully switchable so that the workflow can be designed to be versatile. Thanks to the M/S matrix, it is also possible to work with external devices that do not have their own M/S function.
Precise bass control and first-class processing
Another key feature is the elliptical filter, which removes low-frequency signal components from the side signal and transfers them to the mid signal. This clears up the bass range, which is particularly important for vinyl mastering. The filter operates with an exceptionally steep slope and can be set in a frequency range from 22 Hz to 450 Hz.
The SPL Gemini Black is designed as a 19-inch rack unit with one height unit (1 U) and therefore fits seamlessly into any professional studio setup. The robust workmanship and elegant black design underline the premium claim of the device. Developed and manufactured in Germany, the Gemini Black combines innovative signal processing with uncompromising audio quality - an indispensable tool for mastering engineers who want maximum control over the stereo image.
