The TC Electronic Echobrain Analog Delay is a natural vintage delay pedal with a classic, all-analogue bucket brigade design. This compact delay pedal is set to serve up all the warm echoes, and runaway delays you could need. A compact design with top-mounted jacks add convenience so you can produce lush and organic repeats that'll carry your notes away on a brilliant bed of ambience with ease.
Ideal for Gilmour-esque solos, Albert Lee-like slapbacks or fluttery post-rock chord progressions, the all-analogue bucket brigade circuit gives you up to 300ms of delay time. At lower delay time settings your echoes will be more pristine and punchy, but the longer you make it, the more you'll begin to introduce that natural high-end roll-off that is the essence of a great analogue echo. This pedal features a sturdy metal chassis that makes this pedal equally roadworthy and pedalboard friendly.
The Echobrain is very sturdy and well built, as well as very inexpensive. It only has basic controls but they are all very responsive and produce a variety of satisfying, high quality tones, comparable to high end products such as the popular Carbon Copy. This pedal however is limited to a maximum of 300 ms. but it seems to be enough for me. It sounds great with clean, crunch and high gain tones, and with the right settings it's a great in leads and solos. Notice that it does have a darker, vintage type of tone which might not work for everybody. It also starts self-oscillating rather quickly, so not all settings are 100% usable for melody (but cool for experimental/psychedelic stuff). All things considered, especially the price, this analog delay is very easy to recommend. If you need more control/settings, etc., you'll have to look elsewhere and pay a lot more.
