Yamaha introduces the DHR and CHR, two new series of three active and three passive sound reinforcement loudspeakers respectively, positioned between the entry-level DBR/CBR series and the high-end DZR/CZR line, delivering professional results without breaking the budget.
With three models of varying sizes, the new CHR - Series has the right speaker for every conceivable application: a 10" model for fixed installations and utilities, a 12" model for use as a floor monitor, and a 15" version for FOH applications - all with carefully selected custom transducers. Combined with practical features tailored to specific applications, the series gives you the flexibility to choose the ideal loudspeaker for a variety of sound environments.
The CHR10 is a 2-way passive loudspeaker equipped with a 10" bass driver and a 1.4" HF driver, perfect for use in fixed installations. Combining carefully selected and matched transducers with the same high-quality plywood construction used in Yamaha's high-end CZR speaker series, the CHR10 offers premium sound quality and durability.
The CHR10 is extremely flexible: not only can it be mounted on a high stand, but it can also be optionally fitted with horizontal and vertical mounting brackets wherever a small additional loudspeaker is needed - whether as a delay line for larger halls or as infill under balconies. This compact all-rounder ensures optimum results at all times, even under difficult installation conditions: Its compression horn with 90° x 60° dispersion angle can be rotated for practical use.
Although the CHR models will perform well with any power amplifier, the ultimate performance boost comes from pairing them with Yamaha PX amplifiers - after all, this combination represents concentrated Yamaha development experience from the beginning to the end of the signal chain. The PX3, PX5, PX8 and PX10 feature powerful Class D amplification with Yamaha's newly developed LSI chip, plus extensive DSP functions for room equalisation and system setups with subwoofers. The user does not even have to worry about adequate DSP programming: PX power amplifiers have specially adapted setups for CHR speakers directly on board and thus ensue for a perfect adjustment without any programming effort - for legendary Yamaha sound directly out-of-the-box.
Yamaha, a leading manufacturer of professional sound reinforcement equipment for over fifty years, knows that the rigours of the road are not for the faint-hearted. That's why the new DHR/CHR loudspeakers were designed with maximum roadability and rugged construction in mind. The cabinets are made of solid plywood with an extremely resistant polyurea coating and, together with the sturdy speaker grilles, ensure that the powerful-sounding speakers can withstand even hard impacts without complaint. All models of the CHR/DHR series are equipped with high stand flanges, CHR15 and DHR15 are furthermore equipped with professional flying points.
