The ASM Hydrasynth Desktop is an 8-Voice Digital Desktop Synthesizer with Wave-Morphing Synthesis. The enormous variety of functions paired with the first-class sound is evidence of the many years of experience of the development team. With the 24x Velocity-Sensitive Pads, you have direct access to further parameters in addition to note input, such as tone scales. The user interface has been designed with minimal menu work (paging) in mind, and functions are located a keystroke away. 8x illuminated Encoders and a large OLED Screen provide adequate access to all parameters and an optimal overview.
The Chord Function and the programmable Arpeggiator, provide 2x very powerful creative tools to work out your ideas on stage and in the studio. The Hydrasynth comes with 2x Pre-Set Banks of 128x Sounds each; 5x Banks with a total capacity of 640x Sounds available.
5x Analogue Outputs for CV, Gate, Clock and 2x definable controllers make this Synthesizer the control centre of a connected Modular System. In order for the Synth to benefit from Control Voltages, 2x CV Inputs have been implemented that sample into the high audio range. Gate Out and "Maths" in, assigning this to the Cut-Off in the modulation matrix; there are no limits to creativity.
Sound Creation
3x full-fledged Oscillators draw their basic material from 219x Waveforms, with Oscillators 1 and 2 also providing Master Wave Scanning, which allows up to 8x Waveforms to be crossfaded or morphed. The Oscillators can be further shaped via 4x "Mutants"; besides FM, 3x different types of Pulse Width Modulation (PWM), Hard-Sync and Harmonic Sweep, there is also Wavestack. The tool-kit is rounded off with a Noise Generator and the Ring Modulator.
Modulation & Controller
5x loopable DAHDSR Envelopes and 5x synchronizable LFOs with several Waveforms and Trigger Modes including a sixth Vibrato LFO provide plenty of movement in the sound. Besides some fixed Modulation Connections, almost every parameter can be modulated in the Hydrasynth via the Modulation Matrix, which has 32x Slots.
Filter
With 2x different Filters (which can be used in Parallel or Serial mode) detailed sound shaping is simple on the Hydrasynth. The first Filter covers 11x different Models (including 12/24dB Low-Pass, High-Pass and Vocal). The second Filter is a state variable, and works with a slope of 12 dB and can be crossfaded continuously from Low-Pass via Band-Pass to High-Pass (similar to the SEM Filter).
Effects
As the last link in the signal chain there are 4x Effect Blocks to give the sound the final touch. The first and last Effect Blocks each contain the same selection of Chorus, Flanger, Rotary, Phaser, Lo-Fi, Tremolo, EQ, and Compressor (with Sidechain). In between, Delay and Reverb (five and six variations respectively) can be activated.
