Classic Jupiter Tones, Now Portable - Meet the JT Mini
Darling, who shrunk my Jupiter?
Based on the 80s movie hit, you might well ask yourself this question when you see the JT Mini. The JT Mini from Behringer is a very compact analog synthesizer that contains the essential features of a Roland Jupiter-8. The clearly laid out signal path consists of an oscillator, filter, envelope, LFO and VCA, making the JT Mini officially the smallest version of the Jupiter-8. The synth can be played in 3-voice polyphony or in unison, and the voices are shifted against each other when detuning. The oscillator offers the four waveforms triangle and sawtooth, as well as square with and without pulse width modulation. The oscillator's Tuning can be adjusted using the footswitch. This is followed by a low-pass filter with a slope of either 12dB or 24dB. An ADSR envelope for VCF and VCA simultaneously, an LFO with four waveforms (sine, sawtooth, square and random) and the arpeggiator with four playback patterns are used for modulation. The integrated step sequencer offers access to 10 patterns that can be programmed with different scales. Controller movements can also be recorded in the pattern. Notes can be entered quickly using the capacitive 27-key mini-keyboard or via MIDI. Power is supplied exclusively via the USB port, MIDI is also fed into the synthesizer via USB and the DIN socket. Thanks to extensive MIDI implementation, the instrument can be conveniently automated with a DAW or master sequencer. There are no memory locations for sounds.
