Unleash Your Creativity with Dual Morphing Filters - Swords is Here!
Behringer Swords at a glance
Swords from Behringer is a dual Multimode filter, more precisely a genuine dual state-variable filter with sophisticated possibilities. The two filter units are constructed in the same way and can also be used separately. Infinitely variable crossfading from lowpass via Bandpass to Highpass is possible, of course also via control voltage. Resonance does indeed go into self-oscillation, but reproduces this somewhat softer. The filter is followed by an adjustable distortion that can mutate continuously into Waveshaper. Depending on the signal fed in, you can expect sounds ranging from harsh to heavy here at the latest. Five CV inputs per filter ensure plenty of movement in the sound.
Signal routing
Another highlight of this dual filter is the signal routing, which makes use of the individual outputs and the main output. It is infinitely variable from single/dual mono through parallel to serial, the latter achieving Korg MS-20 qualities depending on the setting of the other parameters. For sounds in the stereo field, activate the Shift button, now both cutoffs are controlled with one knob, the second Cutoff then acts as an offset variant. From soft to hard and especially for complex sounds, Swords is a successful combination.
