The Boss CEB-3 Bass Chorus at a glance:
The Boss BassChorus at a glance
The Boss CEB-3 Bass Chorus is designed specifically for use with electric basses and delivers a warm, precisely adjustable sound. The sound spectrum of the CEB-3 Chorus, which can be used in both mono and stereo setups, ranges here from subtle in the width of the bass tone to clearly perceptible sound modulation with enormous depth.
Rate, Depth and Low Filter
To adjust the depth and speed of the Chorus effect, Boss' CEB-3 is equipped with familiar Rate and Depth controls. The adjustable Low Filter takes low frequency ranges out of the effect when turned toward the Cut position, maintaining low-end punch and definition. Last but not least, the Effect Level pot determines the volume of the Chorus in relation to the clean input signal.
I bought CEB-3 for bass but very soon I started to use it with all my guitars, most of the time with acoustics. Dont get me wrong, CEB-3 will never replace a good guitar chorus but using CEB-3 you can apply chorus to higher strings only leaving the lower ones unaffected. Well, with bass it works just as its written in description above, adding the effect just a little. It makes the bass sound just "ringing" and I like it, cos using a full chorus a lot makes the bass sound boring. At the first glance you may think that youve got "too little of chorus for the money" but believe me it isnt so. Acoustic bass sounds very good too.
