The Red Special Guitar is Brian May's trademark, which he built with his father as a teenager in the early 1960s. Since the wood for the guitar came from an old fireplace cladding, it also bears the nickname "Fireplace".

This electric guitar is equipped with three Brian May Custom Tri-Sonic Style Singlecoils, whose special wiring ensures the versatile sound of the original. The pickups can be switched on or off individually via three slide switches. Three further sliders allow the pickups to be switched In or Out of Phase.
The bridge on the Special Antique Cherry is a high-quality Wilkinson vibrato with 2-point suspension and brass saddles, while Grover Locking Rotomatic tuners make string changes much easier and increase tuning stability thanks to fewer axis windings.
A great guitar, with original specs spiced with modern elements. I am haven a hard time putting it down:-)
