The
Cranborne Audio ADAT500
offers space for 8 modules in APIs popular 500 format. Each module slot has a volume control and a pan control, in addition there is a master section with 2 high quality headphone amplifiers and corresponding fade/level controls for the aux input.
On the rear panel, the Cranborne Audio ADAT500 reveals its true purpose: the connection via optical ADAT to a corresponding audio interface. The signal is converted internally at up to 192kHz sample rate for 4 slots and 96kHz for 8 slots. The rear panel also features XLR inputs and outputs, the TRS inserts for each module, and the connectors for Cranborne Audio's proprietary C.A.S.T. system, which provides analog signal transmission over standard CAT5 cables. On the front panel, each module can now be set to output audio via ADAT, C.A.S.T. or XLR.
An additional C.A.S.T. Link connector allows the Cranborne Audio ADAT500 to be connected to, for example, the 500R8 audio interface from the same manufacturer, so that its 8 channels are extended by the 8 of the Cranborne Audio ADAT500.
Finally, the Cranborne Audio ADAT500 can be integrated into existing word clock systems. Configuration is done via a series of Dip switches, which also determine the sample rate.
