The Cranborne Audio ADAT500 offers space for 8 modules in API's popular 500 format. Each module slot has a volume and pan control, and there is also a master section with 2 high-quality headphone amplifiers and associated blend/level controls for the aux input.
At the rear, the Cranborne Audio ADAT500 reveals its true purpose: the connection via optical ADAT to a corresponding audio interface. The signal is converted internally at up to 192kHz sample rate for 4 slots and 96kHz for 8 slots. The rear panel also features XLR inputs and outputs and the TRS inserts for each module and the connectors for Cranborne Audio's own C.A.S.T. system, which transmits analog signals via standard CAT5 cables. On the front panel, you can now set for each module whether the audio output is to be via ADAT, C.A.S.T. or XLR.
An additional C.A.S.T. Link connector allows the Cranborne Audio ADAT500 to be connected to the 500R8 audio interface from the same company, so that its 8 channels are extended to the 8 of the Cranborne Audio ADAT500.
Finally, the Cranborne Audio ADAT500 can be integrated into existing word clock systems. The configuration is carried out via a series of dip switches, which also determine the sample rate.
