The Doepfer A-197-3 RGB LED Controller is used for selective control of an RGB LED strip by means of control voltage. 3x CV inputs are permanently assigned to the colours red, green and blue, with each colour having a brightness control and an attenuator for the CV intensity. If, for example, the filter envelope is fed to the blue input, the supplied one-meter RGB LED strip begins to light up and pulsate according to the envelope curve. By adding further voltages to red and green and adjusting CV and brightness components, a variety of colour mixes are created that make the modular system light up on stage or in the home studio to the most curious colour changes via CV. Unlike a classic light organ, the A-197-3 is not frequency selective.
Please note that the installation is not possible in every case. The cases of the Doepfer A-100P series are best suited for this, otherwise a modification of your own case is recommended. Please also note the increased power consumption. Longer (not supplied) RGB LED strips consume correspondingly more power. Further information can be found on the Doepfer homepage.
