For the construction of the Gretsch G6659TG Broadkaster, Gretsch relies on the classic ingredients for a semi-acoustic electric guitar. Accordingly, the compact body is made of maple laminate, with the back and top joined by a solid center block to prevent feedback even at high volumes. The glued maple neck is furthermore with the well-rounded "Standard U" profile comfortably in the hand and lets when playing electric guitar every lick between the 22 frets of the ebony fingerboard go easily from the fingers.
Two Gretsch Full'Tron humbuckers combined with the typical Gretsch circuitry deliver versatile sounds with unmistakable vintage character.

Two Gretsch Full'Tron humbuckers are used as pickups on the Gretsch G6659 Players Edition Broadkaster. With their lively dynamics and the extremely wide frequency spectrum, these pickups capture the woody resonance of the semi-acoustic construction excellently and transmit it to the amplifier, so that nothing stands in the way of expressive Gitarre playing in the wide spectrum Blues and rock'n'roll. For additional tonal variability sorgt furthermore the typical Gret circuitry consisting of a 3-way toggle, individual volume controls for each pickup as well as master volume and master tone controls.
Robust Gotoh tuners with locking function promise a stable tuning.
Hardware features with modern functionality
A high-quality hardware setup that combines classic looks with contemporary functionality completes the Gretsch G6659TG Broadkaster Jr. from the Players Edition. Accordingly, the combination of Bigsby string-thru vibrato and Gretsch Adjusto-Matic bridge sits atop the body. The Bigsby offers the proven functionality and decorates chords oder melodies with softly shimmering modulations, at the same time it allows an easy string change by passing the strings through the vibrato axis. From the bridge the strings with 24.6" scale length (625 mm) run towards the headstock, where they are guided via a Graphtech nut to the Gotoh locking tuners. These not only guarantee an absolutely precise tuning of the electric guitar, but also make the string change extremely comfortable.
