The HeadRush FRFR-108 is a full-range active speaker designed specifically for use with the guitar processor HeadRush Pedalboard or other guitar processors. Equipped with a loudspeaker combination of 8" woofer and compression tweeter, which are fired by a 2000 Watt power amplifier, the guitar speaker delivers a detailed and realistic guitar sound with sufficient volume reserves for use on the big stage. The Contour switch also lets you emphasize bass and treble so you can adjust playback.

After 45 years of playing using traditional Valve amps and 4 x 12 guitar speaker/s and in trying to make a multi FX sound good through them without any real success and what now seems to have been always a compromise , Of course you could never use any Speaker or microphone simulations from the FX unit with a traditional guitar amp setup so apart from Delays , choruses etc. you basically still had a one trick pony as far a guitar tone was concerned (you really only had one sweet spot from most setups) . The recent purchase of the Headrush FRFR-108 (x 2) has been a bit of a revelation for me by the fact that I can now use different Cabs and Mic's from the multi FX and actually hear the difference ... I was expecting more Fizz by the fact that FRFR-108 has a High frequency driver (Tweeter) but it is not the case at all , The sound is really full and reacts really well to tonal changes that you may wish to dial in, lead tones really sing and have zing ! Gone are the days of having to find and put up with the sweet spot sound and welcome in the freedom of being able to use different tones. Excellent product ... using 2 of them for a stereo rig .
Brought this to pair with my FM3 as an onstage monitor, works perfectly and has a good volume to it and tone, very small and lightweight, ideal for carting around for gigs
Using this wonderful Item in two areas, one as a fullrange monitor for on stage use, great sounds and really loud... also as a back line for stereo applications from my stereo effects pedals.
Greast value well worth a try out.
I've had the FRFR-108 for about a month now. I use it with an Avid Eleven Rack. It is quite simply superb. Light and small. It packs a big punch. I've used my Eleven Rack with PAs and power amps into various speaker configurations. But I was always unhappy with the results outside of the studio. The Headrush FRFR-108 is superb. I now have the tone I wanted and only seemed to be able to get with studio monitors. Small and light and extremely loud. Good enough for any gig (especially as it is fitted with a balanced out for PA or Desk input). It is amazing to hear what a punchy full sound you get from a little 8 inch system like this. Build quality seems good and solid. I've read some negative reviews about reliability but I have to say that I've had no problems whatsoever with mine. I'm really enjoying it. My only regret is that I couldn't afford 2 for full stereo effect. But I do input both L and R outputs to the FRFR-108 and the sound is immense. I'll be saving for a second one by the end of the year,
