With the Ibanez URGT100-BK
Due to a more voluminous soundbox, the tenor ukulele produces a more assertive and deeper sound than the soprano ukulele, which produces the typical Hawaiian sound character. The sound of the UICT100-MGS is complemented by a spruce top and a bright, clear note that is given a warm tone by the okoume body when played softly or fingerpicked. The side sound port in the rib increases the visual similarity with an electric guitar. Thanks to it, there is less feedback, which is an immense advantage especially during performances. Players will also find that the side soundhole allows for direct and clear listening.
Due to its larger size, the tenor ukulele is easier to play than the soprano ukulele. This is especially good for taller people, because the fretboard offers more space. The okoum neck with Purpleheart fingerboard and 37 mm nut width fits well in the hand, while the dot inlays provide good orientation. And to really get the most out of the instrument, a cutaway allows free access to the high registers. Meanwhile, robust die-cast tuners reliably keep the tuning.
For stage-ready amplification, the ukulele features the Ibanez AEQ-2UT pickup. In addition to a volume control, the system is equipped with a 2-band equalizer for individual adjustment of bass and treble. This allows you to adjust the sound to your own preferences or to the ambient conditions. In addition, an integrated tuner ensures a sound-assured performance.
The striking shape of the ukulele attracts all eyes. The design is based on an electric guitar and gives a rock impression. The body shape, a characteristic headstock and the black high-gloss finish with white single-ply bindings give the instrument a very special character that enhances the stage image to the maximum.
