The Motu Monitor 8 is a USB audio interface, headphone amplifier and monitor mixer in one device. It offers exceptional audio quality and mixing console functions for 24 physical inputs and dozens of AVB audio network channels on 8 stereo monitor groups. Monitor 8 can be used as a stand-alone mixer and can be controlled directly from an iPad, iPhone, tablet, smartphone and laptop. A second Motu AVB interface can be easily connected via a network cable.
The MOTU 24Ao can also be connected to other AVB audio interfaces via the AVB Ethernet port, as mentioned above. This can be done either by a direct Ethernet cable connection from interface to interface or by using the single available MOTU AVB switch, which can be used to connect more than two MOTU audio interfaces simultaneously. In this way, any number of inputs and outputs can be added to an existing AVB network without much effort. The standalone mixer function of the MOTU 24Ao rounds off the very flexible application profile of the audio interface, as it no longer needs to be controlled directly, but can be remotely controlled via a web app on iPhone, iPad, smartphone, tablet or laptop. In this way, certain parameters can be modified. This feature makes the MOTU 24Ao AVB very interesting for mobile applications, such as stage or general live applications. However, it is also very suitable for studios, as it can be easily expanded through the AVB network. Furthermore, it is also well suited for home studios, as the high quality converters and very good 24-bit/192kHz resolution allow for excellent audio recordings.
The Motu Monitor 8 is perfectly suited for professional studios that require the highest precision and audio quality when mixing. But that's not all the Monitor 8 offers the user. It is widely expandable thanks to AVB Ethernet port, has 8 line inputs and 2 ADAT banks. In terms of flexibility, the Motu Monitor 8 as a stationary audio interface cannot be surpassed by its pure functional range.
