50 Watt tube head with two channels and CabClone IR, including foot switch
With the Mesa Boogie Badlander 50 Head, the Californian amp manufacturer from Petaluma adds a 50-watt tube head to the legendary Rectifier series, whose modern voicing corresponds perfectly with lower tuned 7-string and 8-string guitars. With an aggressive midrange, extremely tight bass and percussive attack, the reworked preamp design presents every note with razor-sharp precision, whereas the EL34 multi-watt power amp provides that extra portion of punch and presence. Two identically constructed channels with three gain modes and intuitive EQ give you full control over the sound. The Mesa Boogie Badlander 50 Head is also the perfect partner for home and silent recording with the integrated CabClone IR DI box, which gives each channel access to eight impulse speaker simulations.
With two identically constructed channels, the Mesa Boogie Badlander 50 Head delivers first-class metal sounds with modern voicing.
Two identical channels for versatile sounds
Based on five 12AX7 tubes, the Mesa Boogie Badlander 50's preamp design uses two identically constructed channels for intuitive and precise control over the guitar sound. With Clean, Crunch and Crush, each channel offers three basic gain modes for glassy California clean sound, creamy mid-gain drive or the most aggressive high-gain distortion. In addition, each channel features a 3-band tone stack and a presence control to precisely adjust the guitar sound.
Multi-watt output stage with EL34 tubes and Variac mode
The power amplifier of the Mesa Boogie 50 Head is equipped with two EL34 tubes providing a full 50 watts of power, promising stage-ready volumes with enormous presence and power. Furthermore the multi-watt circuitry allows the power to be reduced to a moderate 20 watts, so that the amp can be used to its full potential even in small venues. For fans of the classic Brown sound, the Mesa Boogie Badlander also features Variac circuitry, which reduces the power supply to the entire amp and delivers a particularly smooth response with natural compression.
CabClone IR for silent recording with natural sound
Last but not least, the Mesa Boogie Badlander 50 is equipped with the practical Mesa Boogie CabClone IR DI box for silent recording without connected speakers. Using separate IR switches, one of eight impulse-response speaker simulations can be assigned to each channel, so that guitar tracks are presented with a particularly natural sound. The USB connection also allows 3rd party IRs to be loaded for optimal sound tuning.
The integrated CabClone IR DI box enables silent recording with the Mesa Boogie Badlander 50.
