Baritone electric guitar with 27.7" scale and two PRS SE 85/15 humbuckers, inclusive Gigbag
As a baritone electric guitar, the PRS SE 277 Baritone 2017 Scarlett Red has an extra long 27.7" scale, with which even extremely deep tunings can be reproduced precisely. In addition, the classically built electric guitar has a mahogany body with a maple top, a glued maple neck and two PRS SE 85/15 Humbucker .
With its extra-long 27.7" scale (704 mm), the PRS SE 277 Baritone Scarlett Red precisely converts even extremely low tunings.
Extra long baritone scale
The decisive design feature of the PRS SE 277 is the extra long bore, which allows the strings to vibrate over a length of 27.7" (704 mm). Accordingly, the strings retain their tension even at extremely low tunings, which means that every note is represented with precise articulation. The classical construction with mahogany and maple for body and top and a glued maple neck promises a crisp primary tone with a high midrange presence. A further optical highlight is the curly maple veneer of the top, whose magnificent grain is brought to life by the transparent Scarlett Red finish.
PRS SE 85/15 Humbucker
The PRS SE 277 Baritone 2017 uses two PRS SE 85/15 Humbucker pickups, which are wound according to the American models of the same name. With their modern sound they fit perfectly to the character of this electric guitar. So the neck pickup delivers a warm sound with soft basses, warm mids and silky highs that makes every note sing, no matter if Clean or Overdrive not. The bridge pickup, on the other hand, convinces with its broad-band sound, whose taut bass, focused mid-range and brilliant treble bring even extremely deep riffs and solos with rich pressure and high tone definition to the ears. The pickups are managed classically via 3-way toggle switches as well as master volume and master tone controls.
plate style Bridge
Paul Reed Smith uses a plate style Bridge with string guidance through the body on the PRS SE 277 Baritone 2017 as a bridge, which contributes significantly to the fast and precise sound development of the electric guitar. In addition, the flat bridge offers a pleasant contact surface without edges for the hand when playing guitar. The strings are held on the headstock by six die-cast mechanisms, which convince with precise running and high tuning stability.
