The Sandberg California TT5 RW Lake Placid Blue is a classically built electric bass with variable sound and the extended expressiveness of a low B-string.
The six-fold screw anchoring of neck and body is typical for Sandberg and promotes an even tone development and resonance through both body and neck. The California TT5 features an alder body, while the neck is made of maple and a rosewood fingerboard. As such, the bass delivers a powerful, even tone, with dynamics well into the lower register. With its comfortably designed "C" profile, the neck nestles into the hand when playing bass, so that even complex bass lines can be played with ease on the wide fretboard. The bass features just-shy of a two octave range, topping out at 22x frets.
2x Delano T-Style single coil pickups and the active 2-band equalizer give the Sandberg California TT5 a variety of sounds. The low weight and Sandberg tuners prevent top-heaviness, and as with all the hardware from Sandberg California TT5 provide well thought-out functionality. The solidly built Sandberg Bridge 5 ensures an even tone and sustain development, while intonation and string position can be perfectly adjusted thanks to the three-dimensionally adjustable string saddles.
I'm loving this bass. It just feels and sounds amazing and I keep picking it up to play it.
