Scenes by After Later Audio is a reissue of the popular multisegment envelopeStages by Mutable Instruments. Each of the six stages has a continuously variable curve characteristic, a time respectively level parameter including CV input, Gate input and a CV output. In addition one of three functions can be executed: ramping between voltages, holding a constant voltage, sliding on a voltage until the next trigger is received. The module automatically detects in which gate input a cable is plugged and then automatically forms groups with the steps from left to right. or that are 6x1, 1x6, 3x2, 3+3 or 2+4 groups you decide. This results in well-known classics like A/D, A/R or ADSR envelope, VC-LFO with triangle waveform and pretty wacky complex variations in between. If you send a Clock instead of a gate signal, depending on the mode and setting, Scenes becomes a sequencer with up to six steps. Even as a sample & hold Scenes makes a good figure, for this it requires the concatenation of three steps. Scenes is suitable everywhere where more than the standard is needed. Especially in combination with wavetable oscillators you can achieve spheres with Scenes that rather remind of various Waldorf classics. An LFO with shark fin waveform or a 4-step sequence for a deviating Keytracking of the filter including A/D envelope is needed? Scene can do it.
