Johann Sebastian Bach played a major role in shaping the Baroque era with his extensive musical oeuvre. The virtuoso composed numerous works in a wide variety of forms, which still enjoy great popularity today. Together with his wife Magdalena, Bach compiled two notebooks, each of which was given the title Klavierbüchlein für Anna Magdalena Bach.
With this edition, Bärenreiter presents the work published in 1725, which is the more comprehensive of the two collections. The new Urtext edition contains a preface on the composition and the tradition of the work in English and German, notes on interpretation and, for the first time, fingerings by well-known pianists and piano pedagogues.
