Authentic reissue of the Longhorn Bass from 1958
The Danelectro 58 Longhorn Bass Black is a loving recreation of the Shortscale bass introduced in 1958, which impresses with its unmistakable look and authentic vintage feel. To produce the distinctive, low-frequency sound, Danelectro relies on the typical Masonite construction and lipstick pickup with surprisingly powerful output for the 58 Longhorn Bass. Thanks to the short 29.75" scale length and the slim neck profile, the bass guitar also impresses with butter-soft playing characteristics right up to the highest registers. Naturally, authentic Vintage-StyleHardware in the form of small guitar tuners and a hardtail bridge with rosewood inlays complete the 58 Longhorn Bass from Danelectro.
Authentic vintage feeling: The Danelectro 58 Longhorn Bass impresses with its traditional construction, lipstick pickups and first-class playing characteristics.
The distinctive cutaways of the Masonite-built body allow easy access to the high positions of the bolt-on maple neck.
Authentic construction
Under the classic black high-gloss finish, the 58 Longhorn Bass naturally conceals the classic Danelectro construction, which contributes significantly to its distinctive sound character. In addition to the short 29.75" scale length (756 mm), the bass guitar has a poplar body frame that is sealed with Masonite plates. Thanks to the distinctive Cutaways and the slim C-profile, the maple neck with four bolt-ons can also be easily played up to the highest positions of the 24-fret Pau Ferro fingerboard.
Lipstick pickups with their own volume and tone controls promise vintage sounds full of character.
Lipstick pickup and stacked pots
Two Lipstick pickups, which have always been one of the traditional company's unrecognizable features, are naturally responsible for the electric sound conversion of the 58 Longhorn Bass Black. On the bass amplifier, the electric bass guitar impresses with a sonorous sound that combines a rich bass foundation with astonishingly transparent highs and responds to the playing style with sensitive dynamics. The tone can also be adjusted using the typical "stacked controls" for each pickup. While the discs at the bottom determine the volume, the white pointers regulate the treble content of the signal.
The "Coke Bottle" headstock of the Longhorn Bass carries small vintage-style tuners for precise and stable tuning.
Vintage-style hardware
Last but not least, Danelectro completes the 58 Longhorn Bass Black with classic hardware equipment. The traditional bridge with rosewood string rest is used as the bridge, which supports the strong character of the E-Bass sound. A steel saddle on the narrow "Coke Bottle" headstock also guides the strings to the authentic vintage-style tuners with small wings, which keep the Bass precisely and securely in tune.
