With the Earthquaker Devices Afterneath V3, the effects company from Akron, Ohio has launched the third reincarnation of its magical reverb effect, which captivates guitarists with even broader ambient sounds. At the heart of the EQD Afterneath V3 are, without a doubt, the Drag and Mode controls, which determine the behaviour of the underlying delay lines and determine the character of the sound, ranging from spherical reverb to striking ping-pong reflections. The Length, Diffuse and Damp pots also determine the basic parameters of the reverb, while the Reflect control adjusts feedback up to and including oscillation. Thanks to the innovative Flexi Switching, Earthquaker Devices Afterneath V3 can also be used as a momentary effect that is only active as long as the footswitch is pressed.
