The Fender The Pinwheel is an effect pedal for electric guitar which captures the sounds of Donald Leslie’s rotary speakers, produced and made available for Hammond organs in the 1940s. The effect was adopted by Jazz organists such as Jimmy Smith, before finding its way into Rock via artists such as the Beatles and Pink Floyd.
The Pinwheel includes 3x speaker voices (one of which being Fender’s own Vibraphone) which can be added to your effect chain. Slow or Fast speeds can be selected at will, and an on-board Drive control allows the signal to become overdriven. Employ the Sensitivity knob to allow your attack affect the pedal’s modulation.
LED backlit knobs provide excellent visual cues in dark environments, and the recognisable Fender Amp Jewel takes pride of place in the pedals centre. Finally, The Pinwheel is presented in the robust brushed metal format common to all new wave Fender effect units.
