The Motu 112D is an audio interface with USB and Thunderbolt connectivity. So it can be connected to the host computer either via Thunderbolt or USB. In addition, there are 6 ADAT banks, 24 AES/EBU inputs and outputs as well as Word Clock and MADI I/O, which represent the scope of all connections of the 112D. In total, 112 digital input and output channels are available, which can be expanded with extremely low latencies via the AVB Ethernet connection. With the standalone mixer function of all Motu AVB audio interfaces, the user gains access to a 48-channel mixer with 32-bit floating-point processing.

AVB network and standalone mixer application
The MOTU 112D can also be connected to other AVB audio interfaces through the AVB Ethernet port, as mentioned above. This can be done either by a direct Ethernet cable connection from interface to interface or by using the single available MOTU AVB switch, which allows to connect more than two MOTU audio interfaces simultaneously. In this way, any number of inputs and outputs can be added to an existing AVB network without much effort. The standalone mixer function of the MOTU 112D rounds off the audio interface's highly flexible application profile, as it no longer needs to be controlled directly, but can be remotely controlled via a web app on an iPhone, iPad, smartphone, tablet or laptop. In this way, certain parameters can be modified. The built-in DSP chip also allows effects loading in the standalone Mier function. The effects are included and include reverb, equalizer, compressors and some vintage effects. The mixer works in 32 bit floating point processing for excellent results.
The digital all-rounder
Whether for live applications or large studio installations, the Motu 112D offers the user everything for large projects. In addition to tons of digital inputs and outputs, expansion capability and flexible connectivity, the 112D also offers features beyond that of an audio interface and extremely low latency.
