The Neumann KH 120 II is a professional, DSP-controlled near-field monitor with a 5.25" woofer and powerful 145+100W Class-D bi-amping power amplifier. Like all Neumann speakers, it is optimized for maximum signal integrity, even dispersion, and high sound pressure levels with the lowest possible distortion. Due to its high reliability and outstanding sound characteristics, the KH 120 II is a reference speaker in a compact format that can be used in a wide variety of application scenarios, and which impresses with musical clarity, linearity, and sonority far beyond its technical parameters.
In addition to all the technical improvements, the KH 120 II is compatible with the successful Neumann MA 1 system thanks to DSP: in a user-friendly measurement process, a
The newly integrated Neumann DSP has made possible far-reaching sonic improvements that would not have been possible with purely analogue circuit technology. For example, it has been possible to implement a completely phase-linear crossover for clearer imaging of the high-mid range and even greater overall impulse fidelity. Differences between individual speakers are reduced to a minimum of +/-0.5dB so that the already razor-sharp stereo image of the analogue KH 120 is enhanced to even greater precision.
At the same time, the frequency response has been extended downwards to 44Hz and the maximum possible sound pressure level has been further increased with lower distortion. Advanced protection functions against level peaks, overload and overheating are also DSP-monitored. Despite the additional electronics, the speaker is 800g lighter than its predecessor thanks to an efficient Class D power amplifier that uses a less elaborate heat sink.
This little monitors packs a punch. Just solid clarity from top to bottom. You will be a better mixer/producer once you spend some time with the Neumann KH120 II
