The Pearl DR-511C is a high-quality drum rack with a curved rack bar from Pearl's ICON series. The 112cm long square tube offers a little more space and versatility when positioning the clamps than its straight counterpart. The whole thing is attached to the robust rack legs and can be infinitely adjusted in height. The rack feet with rubber feet can be freely rotated and moved in the latest development stage of the ICON ("Independent CONtrol") rack systems. This allows the rack to be adapted even better to the desired setup.
The unique selling point of Pearl rack systems is definitely the rack bars. Instead of a round tube profile, stable square tubes are used here. With a square profile of 40mm edge length, these tubes are not only wider than most round rack bars and offer the rack clamps more grip, the square shape effectively prevents them from slipping. In contrast to the straight rack bars, the curved versions are slightly longer (112cm instead of 91cm) and thus offer considerably more space between the rack legs. Ideal for extended setups. The rack legs on the other hand come as classic round rack bars with 1.5" diameter and 86.5cm length. Stepless height adjustability and free angling of the side panels make the Pearl DR-511C as flexible as it is robust in construction.

I've tried all the drum racks on the market and always come back to the pearl for me it's second to none, might not be the prettiest but function wise it's superb.
This I the 3rd Pearl rack I have owned over the years, dating back to the original one designed by Jeff Porcaro. I worked in a drum store for a while so I have also seen other racks and I briefly owned a round-tube one from another brand which I soon regretted and went back to Pearl. The square bar allows zero slippage, the whole thing is built like a tank (note how many pros playing other brands of drums still use a Pearl rack). And recently they added a whole range of additional clamps etc. allowing much more customised configurations/setups. I know some prefer the look of traditional stands but the flexibility of positioning with a rack is SO much greater - e.g. you can have your bass drum in an position relative to the toms (not limited by the position of stands or BD mounted tom holders). Also, I find my setup time is MUCH faster - everything is memory locked and ends up in exactly the same position relative to each other every time (no more filling with the relative position of each stand). Best hardware investment I ever made.
