Constructed with proven woods
With the construction of the Sandberg California TM4 Roasted Neck MN Tobacco Sunburst, the Braunschweig bass makers follow the classical guidelines and manufacture the body from alder. The bolt-on neck is made of roasted maple, a thermally treated maple that loses most of its residual moisture by "roasting" in a vacuum. This not only makes it very stable, but also supports the crisp sound and even sustain of the four-string. The slim "C" neck profile also ensures a high degree of playability, allowing every groove to be played without tiring even after hours of playing.
The Sandberg California TM4 Roasted Neck MN Tobacco Sunburst is equipped with Delano pickups and an active 2-band EQ.
Delano pickups for versatile sounds
The electric sound conversion on the Sandberg California TM4 Roasted Neck MN Tobacco Sunburst is handled by pickups from Delano, which give this four-string a broad sound spectrum with unmistakable vintage nuances. The Delano MCFE M-Style humbuckerat the bridge convinces with its assertive power sound, which makes every note felt in the pit of your stomach. In the middle position, however, the Delano JMVC T-Style single-coil pickup delivers a warm low frequency with a pleasant old-school feel. The sound spectrum is further enhanced by the split switch, which allows the humbucker to produce authentic single-coil sounds. In addition, the active 2-band EQ allows for precise adjustment of the sound character.

Sandberg California TM4 Roasted Neck MN Tobacco Sunburst Highgloss
I needed a backup bass for my trusty Fender Jazz. After reading researching the instruments on-line and never having played one I took a chance and bought the Sandberg California TM4. I've played 100's of basses over the years and have never found an instrument that I would regard as superior to the Fender Jazz range - until now. The Sandberg ticks all the boxes: fast neck, warm sound, great electronics, perfect weight distribution (same weight as the Fender but feels lighter). I really cannot fault it except to say the stock strings do the instrument no justice. I am now the happy owner of two Sandberg Californian's and have sold my Fender Jazz as it just cannot compete with the Sandbergs.
