Evolution Wireless Digital, the new standard
With the new EW-D system, Sennheiser opens up new possibilities where other systems have so far reached their limits. Where else can you get a connection in seconds and up to 90 fully scalable channels? And, of course, all this happens with virtually no latency!
The Evolution Wireless Digital System
The Sennheiser U1/5 (823.2-831.8 / 863.2-864.8 MHz) consists of a stationary EW-D EM Rack Receiver, an EW-DSK digital bodypack transmitter and the ME 2 clip-on microphone, and is particularly suitable for speakers. The lapel microphone with an omnidirectional polar pattern has an optimized audio transmission range for even better speech intelligibility. Thanks to the improved clip-on design, and a lighter plastic housing with a built-in windscreen, the clip-on microphone can be quickly and firmly attached to clothing.
Sennheiser's system uses the equidistant frequency grid, which was only used in Sennheiser's high-end Digital 6000 and Digital 9000 systems until now. This makes complex frequency coordination a thing of the past. This means that even laymen in radio technology can operate and set up the new system really quickly and easily. All settings are made via the display and the function keys.
Sound engineer in pocket format
Thanks to Bluetooth Low Energy, you have full control over the entire system - with the Sennheiser Smart Assist app. Take advantage of remote control and mobile access to every single system setting conveniently via your Android or iOS device.
If you don't want to spend a long time searching for free frequencies, you can activate the automatic setup and all parameters are automatically adjusted in the system. This works simultaneously with multiple radio links. So you save time and effort and can concentrate on your performance.
Battery or rechargeable battery - that is the question!
The new Sennheiser EW-D system can be operated with conventional AA batteries with a runtime of up to 6 hours. Optionally, there is the Sennheiser BA 70 rechargeable battery, which is much more ecological than batteries that are thrown away after a single use. In addition, the battery has a long runtime of up to 12 hours.
Frequency range
The Sennheiser U1/5 operates in the frequency range 823.2-831.8 / 863.2-864.8 MHz and can therefore be used in the EU, UK, Saudi Arabia.
Scope of delivery
All models of the Evolution Wireless Digital System are delivered with a rack kit, which allows the installation in a 19" rack without any problems. Furthermore, a power supply unit with country-specific adapters is included in the scope of delivery.
