The Squier Contemporary Telecaster HH MN Black Metallic is part of the Squier Contemporary Series 2018. Each instrument features a 4-Bolt Squier neck plate, a “C” shape neck, dot inlays and 22 jumbo frets.
The Contemporary Telecaster HH captures the authentic and world famous looks that have made it a recognised staple the world over. This guitar has a slim “C” shape neck, 22 jumbo frets and 12” fingerboard radius – ideal for agile technique and slow-burning blues bends alike. Dual ceramic chrome-covered humbucking pickups provide high output and tone options, adjustable from a combination of the 3-way pickup selector switch and the tone control. The body finish is complimented by the matching headstock.
The Poplar body wood has excellent projection and resonance, qualities that are mirrored by the Maple neck and fingerboard. The neck also includes Black Dot inlays and a Synthetic Bone nut, whilst a 6-Saddle Hardtail bridge fixes the strings to the body. This hardware has been finished in Chrome.
The main features of the Squier Contemporary Telecaster HH MN Black Metallic include:
Looks lovely and plays nicely - the guitar has a nice "sparkle" effect to the paint, a bit like metallic paint on the guitar. No sharp frets or rough finishes or anything else to mark it as a cheap guitar, and the roasted maple neck looks and feels very nice.
For the money it costs this is crazy value, if you slapped a Fender badge on this rather than Squier I'm not sure anyone would bat an eyelid.
The specifications on this guitar are, as stated in the advert, unusual for a guitar at this price point. That said, I'd be tempted to swap out the tuners/machine heads and maybe the pickups too. However I need to play it a bit more to be certain. :-)
