L'enceinte Orange OBC115
I always loved Orange products, just thank's to their original design and colors.
I'm was so tired of black and dark colored cabs that I sold my guitar rig to buy another, and I tried Orange cabs 10 years ago (for guitar) with 2 PPC 212, and last summer a 412.
I was so impressed by the overall quality that I HAD to buy this brand for bass!
I play a Dingwall Combustion 6 strings (tuned to low F#0 to match my Skerv 8 tuning) in Indigo Burst, plugged in a Darkglass Microtubes 900 V2 head.
I already had the Orange OBC 410, and wanted this 115 to have this wonderful Orange stack.
As always, the quality is incredible, but for more than a decade, Orange always put the brand new cab in a thin plastic bag, surrounded by a thin box... Mine arrived with the inner tolex that wasn't stuck or fixed. For a pricey cab it should arrive with zero flaws...
The sound of this cab is incredible. It really goes well with my modern sounding gear, and adds a nice flavor to it! I never played a 1x15 before, and I was expecting the sound to be dark. Thank's I was wrong! The clean channel of my Microtubes sounds with a nice growl, and in active mode with my bass, it really screams!
Same goes for slap, it's well defined, and (believe it or not), more present than on my OBC 410.
In drive mode, the sound is a bit muddy, more than on my 410 with accepts really well strong drive levels. I was maybe expecting more with high gain levels, but I didn't push the volume high enough for the moment.
I'm still warming up the speaker of this Orange, and I'll try this in a reharsal.
I think it's gonna be loud!
Thank's for reading!
