Innovative BB Bass with professional features

The Yamaha BBP 35 RW Vintage Sunburst II is manufactured in Japan and is an absolutely professional tool for ambitious bassists. The top-class E-Bass not only impresses with its mercilessly good playing comfort, but also with its flawless workmanship and innovative construction, which includes the elaborate and particularly robust "Miter" neck joint and the "Diagonal Body Thru Stringing" on the bridge. Furthermore, a classic passive circuit with Alnico pickups in the PJ setup provides organic bass sounds that feel at home in any style of music.

YAMAHA BBP 35 RW Vintage Sunburst II electric bass
The second generation Yamaha BBP35, built in Japan, is an absolutely professional electric bass and impresses with its elaborate construction, first-class playability and versatile sounds.

The elaborate miter joint guarantees a particularly stable and sound-enhancing connection between neck and body.

Impeccable workmanship and elaborate construction

In the construction of the Yamaha BBP35, the Japanese bass makers rely on elaborate ingredients that guarantee a first-class sound and unhindered playability. A thick maple layer between the alder back and top of the body ensures an assertive mid-range spectrum and a tight sound development, which is supported by the five-piece neck made of maple and mahogany . The "miter" neck joint was also adopted from Billy Sheehan's Yamaha Attitude Bass, with two diagonally recessed screws pulling the neck heel deep into the neck pocket, where four further screws secure it bombproof. Furthermore, the entire Bass is subjected to Yamaha's Initial Response Acceleration (I.R.A.) to achieve the lively tone of an instrument that has been played in for a long time by means of a vibration treatment. With its flat C neck profile , the Yamaha BB Pro five-string furthermore offers smooth playability from the low B to the high G string.

YAMAHA BBP 35 RW Vintage Sunburst II Pickups
Yamaha YGD VSP7n and VSC7b ALnico pickups in the PJ setup and tradition-conscious passive circuitry promise a variety of bass sounds for almost every genre.

Alnico pickups for organic bass sounds

The pickups for the BBP35 bass guitar from Yamaha are Alnico V pickups from the company's own YGD division. Thanks to the Yamaha VSP7b split coil in the middle position and the Yamaha VSC7b single coil on the bridge, the E-Bass impresses with classic, versatile sounds that deliver a rich yet defined bass foundation for almost any style of music. The pickups are combined with straightforward passive electronics that include individual volume controls and a general tone pot.

YAMAHA BBP 35 RW Vintage Sunburst II Headstock
Lightweight Yamaha open-gear tuners with a satin chrome finish keep the BBP35 securely in tune.

High-quality hardware

The BBP35 E-Bass from Yamaha is completed by high-quality, perfectly coordinated hardware. The Yamaha Vintage Plus bridge sits on the body, which not only supports the sustain-rich sound of the Bass thanks to its high-mass construction with steel base plate and brass string saddles, but also guarantees precise intonation and comfortable string action. The innovative bridge also offers the option of switching between"Diagonal Thru Body Stringing", in which the strings are guided through the body at a 45° angle, and the classic "Top Load" string suspension to influence the response of the strings. In addition, Yamaha Lightweight Open-Gear tuners on the headstock ensure particularly precise tuning and a significantly reduced neck dive.
