Thinline body made of ash

The Fender Postmodern Stratocaster JRN Closet Classic MN Aged Mercedes Blue draws its unique basic sound from its two-piece ash body, which provides an expressive wooden note thanks to its resonance chamber plus the associated F-hole in the upper half of the body. Furthermore, an ergonomically contoured neck foot ensures easier playability in the highest fingerboard positions of the quarter-sawn maple neck, while the compound radius, which rises from 9.5" to 12" across all 21 frets in narrow-tall format, always creates the best conditions for secure Chords and controlled lead playing.

Hand-wound single-coil trio from the Custom store

Its three hand-wound single-coil pickups from the Fender Custom store in Corona, California, make the Fender Postmodern Stratocaster JRN Closet Classic MN Aged Mercedes Blue an absolute powerhouse. While the Custom Shop Hand-Wound '69 single coil elicits a vocal note with clear definition from the neck position, the Custom Shop Fat '50s single coil installed in the bridge position lends the instrument extraordinary assertiveness and clarity. The Set is complemented by a Custom Shop '60s single coil, which ensures hum-free intermediate positions thanks to reversed polarity and winding. The underlying Vintage Modified #2 wiring assigns the bridge pickup its own tone control, while the neck and middle position can be attenuated via the upper tone control.
