With the Gibson Les Paul Standard '60s AAA Heritage Cherry Sunburst, Gibson USA presents an electric guitar as part of the Original Collection that authentically captures the spirit and sound of the innovative singlecut models from the early 1960s. In addition to the mahogany body and an intensely grained curly maple top in AAA quality , the guitar has a "slim taper" mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard that sits comfortably in the hand. At the guitar amplifier, Gibson Burstbucker 61 pickups deliver typical vintage sounds with authentic PAF character, which can be adjusted via the hand-wired circuit with 'Orange Drop' capacitors. Last but not least, the Les Paul Standard '60s AAA Heritage Cherry Sunburst from Gibson features Grover Rotomatic tuners and the tried-and-tested ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and aluminum stopbar setup.

The construction of the Les Paul Standard '60s AAA Heritage Cherry Sunburst naturally follows the historical specifications in order to achieve the unadulterated and powerful sound character. Accordingly, Gibson dispenses with a weight relief in the mahogany body, while the maple top emphasizes the dignified look of the guitar. With the pleasantly slim "Sim Taper" profile of the sixties, the glued mahogany neck also promises comfortable playing characteristics right up to the high registers of the 22-fret rosewood fingerboard.

'60s burstbucker pickups and hand-wired circuitry
As pickups for the Les Paul Standard '60s, Gibson chose two '60s burstbucker pickups, which provide an authentic PAF character with an accentuated midrange spectrum and airy dynamics, and elicit harmonically resolved cleans and powerful Overdrive with singing Sustain from the guitar amplifier. n order to be able to precisely adjust the guitar sound, Gibson also relies on the classic, hand-wired 3-way circuit, which provides the popular Orange Drop capacitors for smooth treble roll-offs in addition to individual volume and tone controls for each pickup.
The "Open Book" headstock of the Les Paul Standard '60s carries Grover Rotomatics for stable and precise tuning.
Traditional Vintage-Style hardware
Of course, Gibson completes the Les Paul Standard '60s AAA Heritage Cherry Sunburst with the traditional hardware equipment that more than fulfills professional demands on stage and in the recording studio. On the body, the strings are guided from the lightweight aluminum stopbar via the classic ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, which was developed by legendary Gibson president Ted McCarty to guarantee precise adjustment of intonation and string action. At the headstock in the coveted "Open Book" Style, a GraphTech nut also guides the strings to six Grover Rotomatic tuners, which combine high precision and tuning stability with classic Vintage-Looks.

Overall, best LP standard out of Gibson compared to previous years!
+ Great looking finish, couldn't find any imperfections + Good linear response from electronics (smooth transitions in volume and tone). + Awesome flame maple top (each one is different though, so sometimes you simply need to be lucky). + Classic Gibson tone + Good nut height (sometimes kept too high on purpose by Gibson, but this one is spot on)
- Be prepared to do some minor (but crucial!) set-up work, even though the guitars are checked in the store. The neck on mine had way too little bow, which ment none of the strings could even remotely vibrate freely. It was a 5 minute easy fix and now it plays beautifully, so don't hesitate to use the complementary multitool which comes with the guitar! - Screws for intonation are on the fretboard-side (front) of the bridge. This is historically accurate, so it's not completely fair to put it as a negative... but in my opinion these are a bit harder to reach. It requires a steadier hand to not scratch the pick-ups.

I finally saved money for this guitar and when I wanted to buy it, there was no available models in stock all across Netherlands. I was trying to find it everywhere and eventually I found one piece here in Music Store. i was so happy! It arrived in a good packaging by DHL. It took longer then expected (a few days longer) but in a good shape. I recorder a full unboxing just in case of any issues, but it turned out that the guitar and the suitcase are in perfect condition. no glitches, or scratches all over the guitar. The construction and the setup are as expected. The sound is also awesome and as expected from a such guitar. Overall, I am very happy with this order.

Dit instrument barst van de geschiedenis en klasse. De onnamaakbare klank, de legendarische sustain, de iconische look.
De gitaar is exact wat je verwacht: een stevige dubbele humbucker met een lekker dunne 60s nek, 2 burstbuckers, 2 tone regelaars en 2 volume knoppen. De frets zijn vrij laag waardoor de gitaar heel vlot speelt.
De finish is fantastisch, gaat van honing naar wijnrood en zwart afhankelijk van de verlichting. Het gevlamde esdoorn is subtiel en natuurlijk (hier geen tijgerpatroon) en danst in het licht.
Het is een handgemaakt instrument, dus je zal hier en daar wat kleine imperfecties vinden. Qua afwerking zijn de 2021 exemplaren iets netter dan de exemplaren van 2019/begin 2020.
Je krijgt exact wat je verwacht van een Gibson Les Paul!

De site werkt geweldig en de levering via UPS is ook dik in orde. Alleen de voorspelde levertijd via UPS mag beter. Aangeven dat om 9.00 u PM geleverd wordt, en dan om 11 u AM voor de deur staan klopt natuurlijk niet. Maar voor de rest zeer dik tevreden met mijn schitterende Les Paul! Top!
