Net als zijn grote broers en zussen uit de MPK-serie is het USB/MIDI-controllertoetsenbord AKAI Professional MPK Mini Mk2 opnieuw ontworpen en wordt het nu aangevuld met extra functies. Zo kunnen bijvoorbeeld pitch bend en modulatie nu via de joystick worden aangestuurd. De 25 Synth-Action mini toetsen zijn zeer eenvoudig te bespelen en te bedienen. 8 MPC pads met Note Repeat spreken ook voor zich en zijn zeer populair bij AKAI fans. De pads kunnen in drie standen worden geschakeld: Opmerking, CC en Program Change commando's. Samen met de 8 vrij programmeerbare potentiometers resulteert dit in een ongekende flexibiliteit voor een controller toetsenbord van deze grootte. Door zijn grootte is de MPK Mini Mk2 vooral interessant voor mobiel gebruik. De controller komt voor een korte tijd samen met vijf Melodics lessen.
Bijzonder opmerkelijk en uniek in deze compacte klasse is de arpeggiator van de AKAI Professional MPK Mini Mk2. Met deze arpeggiator kun je zowel in een DAW als in een live-optreden via een softwaresynthesizer driving arpeggio's spelen. Parameters zoals de resolutie van de notenwaarden, de richting en de zwaai kunnen tijdens het spelen via het toetsenbord worden aangepast. Door het tap tempo kan de arpeggiator zelfs in live mode synchroon lopen met de band. MPK Mini beschikt ook over Octave Up en Down knoppen die het toetsenbord snel naar een andere toonhoogte schakelen. Natuurlijk wordt de AKAI Professional MPK Mini Mk2 via USB gevoed om de mobiliteit te garanderen.
De MPK Mini wordt geleverd met de nieuwe VIP 3.1, die een revolutie teweegbrengt in de hardware/software-ervaring en die muzikanten en producenten ongeëvenaarde toegang geeft tot hun VST-instrument en effectencollectie. Kunstenaars kunnen nu alle bedieningselementen van hun MIDI-controller (knoppen, encoders, faders, knoppen) toewijzen aan de parameters van VIP's voor een moeiteloze integratie en een verbeterde workflow.
AKAI Professional MPK Mini Mk2 Controller KeyboardDe hardware is top. Ik gebruik deze midi-controller voor recreatief gebruik op Garageband. Het heeft lang geduurd voordat ik besefte dat ik de software van Akai (die enorm verouderd is) hiervoor niet nodig had.
Heb je dus al een programma om muziek mee op toe nemen: zeker de moeite waard. Als je het met het programma van Akai zelf wilt doen, raad ik je dit af.
I bought this as my first MIDI controller after researching online for a while. I noticed, however that the previous version ( before the MK2) showed a couple weak points. For example, they said that the touch pads where far from sensitive and that the usb-port came loose easiliy.
The MK2 seems to have improved all these points. The touch pads react really nice. Also, the added arpeggiator and thumb control stick work really good and are fun to mess around with.
If you dont have any experience with it, it might take a little work to set it up properly using the added software, but you can also use it straight away in many DAWs.
I absolutely love this controller. It shows an incredible build quality and many options for its size. In my opinion, this would be the most interesting MIDI controller in this price range available.

the pads feel really great, the keys are a bit small but useful. its not made to play a mozart peace on the keys but for simple ideas and more you cant beat it. it comes with mpc essential if you dont have a daw already you can start with that peace of software. the two plugins provided are great.
its also very useful for other things than making music. for the moment i use it to rate my itunes tracks by stars. 5 different pads for different stars mapped midi message to keyboard input strings with an other peace of free software. really great workflow. because its small and build quality is good i keep it on my lap and rate my music with the mpk no keyboard needed.
the price value aspect is really a winner for me. you get a lof for your money here
