Crash & Ride Cymbals

The CYMBL909 module from Tiptop Audio is part of a series of drum modules that bring the classic percussion sound into the world of synthesizers. CYMBL909 is a two-voice module and contains the original TR-909 Crash and Ride circuits adapted to the Eurorack format to create a sound fresh from the 80s. Unlike the original, the CYMBL909 is equipped with some fantastic features to expand the sound spectrum of the two voices.

The original circuit is a combination of lo-fi 6-bit sound samples that are run through a series of analog components, enveloped and filtered. The CYMBL909 provides additional controls and CV inputs for Tuning. This allows Tiptop to produce sounds ranging from hard industrial sounds at low tuning to crash & ride sounds and bright HiHats sounds at high tuning. The modulation options with an envelope generator, CV sequencer or LFO provide exciting sound-bending effects that can be triggered in sync with the sound if required. As with all drums in this series, the powerful Output allows you to further enhance the sound with distortion and clipping. The module can be triggered via the Gate inputs with a trigger/gate signal from the step sequencer, Clock-Divider or any other pulse/clock source. The multiple Tiptop drum modules form a complete, flexible synthesizer system. In combination with the MIXZ module, the sum mix is available for immediate tapping.
