The Darkglass Electronics Alpha ∙ Omega 900 combines the sound diversity of the most popular Darkglass distortion pedal with a 900 watt power amplifier to create the ideal bass amplifier for the hard'n'heavy fraction. Based on a fully analog circuitry, the bass amp has a clean section with a 6-band graphic equalizer, which is preceded by the Alpha Omega engine with two distinctive drive voicings. In addition, an integrated One Knob compressor is available. With 900 watts, the power amplifier, designed in modern Class D technology, also promises maximum volume reserves for use on stage or in the rehearsal room. The Darkglass Alpha Omega 900 is also well-equipped for the recording studio with a wide range of peripherals, including balanced pre- and post-DI outputs, a headphone jack and MIDI.
The Darkglass Alpha Omega 900's completely analog preamplifier has a clean section whose extremely transparent sound guarantees an unadulterated reproduction of the instrument used and the playing technique. The graphic 6-band equalizer allows the extremely precise tuning of the sound image, while the integrated compressor with straight one-knob control guarantees a smooth and rich sound experience.
The Darkglass Alpha ∙ Omega's Alpha-Omega engine is without a doubt the heart of the Alpha ∙ Omega's sound, which derives directly from the distortion pedal developed with Jon Stockman (Karnivool) and promises variable distortion sounds. Accordingly, the mod control fades between the alpha circuit, which has a tight, powerful drive, and the omega circuit, which stands for unbridled, brutal distortion with maximum gain. In addition, the Growl switch saturates the bass foundation if desired, while the Bite switch determines the highs at 2.8 kHz for increased definition and assertiveness. Of course, the dry bass signal can be continuously mixed in via the blend control to maintain pressure and thrust in the low-end.
For maximum volume reserves and an extremely powerful sound that pushes every note played into the pit of the stomach with force, the Darkglass Alpha Omega 900 is equipped with a contemporary Class D power amplifier that delivers a full 900 watts to the bass speakers despite its transport-friendly format. These can be connected securely to the top section via two combination sockets, whereby combinations of two 4 ohm cabinets are also possible thanks to the 2 ohm mode.
In addition, the Darkglass Alpha ∙ Omega 900 features balanced pre-DI and post-DI outputs for direct pickup of the dry input signal and processed bass, while the headphone jack allows silent practice. A loudspeaker simulation is available for direct pickup and headphone connection, which promises particularly natural sound experiences thanks to the use of Impulse Responses (IRs). The loudspeaker simulations can be easily exchanged via the USB port and the free Darkglass suite.
Last but not least, the extensive functions of the Darkglass Alpha Omega 900 can be remote controlled via MIDI or footswitch. The included Darkglass Intelligent Footswitch allows switching the distortion and the mute function with only one single switch.
