The EBS Billy Sheehan Ultimate Signature Drive packs the legendary Mr. Big bassist's sonic philosophy into a handy effects pedal that is a sound powerhouse no bass pedalboard should be without. Separate signal paths for the clean signal and overdrive recreate Sheehan's preferred setup with separate bass rigs for clear and distorted sounds, while practical details such as compressor and boost provide additional tonal variety.
Separate channels for Clean and Drive
At the heart of the Billy Sheehan Ultimate Signature Drive is a fully analog circuit with a switchable OP-amp and separate channels for clean and distorted bass tone. While the Clean channel offers an extremely clear sound, the Drive channel delivers juicy vintage crunch or full bass distortion, depending on the position of the Drive knob. Separate level controls allow for smooth mixing of both channels to achieve the perfect balance of rich low-end punch and juicy distortion. Should phase problems with low frequency cancellations occur, the phase switch will help. To adjust the tone, the Tone control is also available, whose operating range can be placed in different frequency ranges by means of a Hi/Lo switch.

A practical detail of the EBS Billy Sheehan Ultimate Drive are the two integrated effect channels. Additional effects can be added to the Clean and Drive channels via optionally available insert cables to make the sound design with the effects pedal even more flexible.
Compressor and Boost
In addition, the Billy Sheehan Ultimate Signature Drive from EBS features an integrated compressor that smooths the dynamics of the bass tone in two intensity levels. Internal trim controls allow you to adjust the threshold and compressor level. In addition, a switchable boost is on board, which elicits additional gain reserves from the drive channel. The intensity of the signal boost can be adjusted between +3 dB and +10 dB via an internal trim control.
