The combination of ceramic magnets with the narrower magnetic field of the single coil format makes the EMG 60's attractive sound. It is extremely sensitive to the guitarist's attack and combines the attack of a single coil with the warm and powerful sound of a humbucker, but with considerably more treble than you are used to from humbuckers. Assertive yet singing lead sounds and transparent chords are no problem for the EMG 60 - can only be used in combination with active pickups!
