The Gibson Les Paul Futura lifts the classic Singlecut design into modern application areas and comes with some useful innovations in terms of electronics, pickups and Hardware equipment. First, the Les Paul Futura 2014 with a " Modern " Weight Relief mahogany body brings less weight to the scales and also provides better resonance and a more balanced balance point on the harness. The use of GraphTech saddles and a specially treated waistband wire, which is now even more resistant to wear and corrosion, makes it Instrument much more resistant to play marks and natural wear.
On the neck comes for the first time the Gibson P-90H Sidewinder Humbucker The construction with side-wound coils combines the strengths of the Humbucker with the striking P-90 profile. It is a good looking guitar but it is not the Les Paul as you might expect it should be look like. It sounds great but again it has its own voice. There were some issues with electronics (no sound from neck pickup right after unpacking) which were disappeared without any trace in couple of days. Was it bad connection or condensate during transportation? Anyhow I rated it 3 stars for quality.
