With the Gibson Les Paul Studio 2017 HP Lefthand from the High Performance Series, Gibson presents a straightforward player's guitar for left-handers, which does without unnecessary optical ornamentation and only puts the sound in the foreground. Accordingly, the electric guitar has a mahogany body with ultra-modern weight relief, a glued mahogany neck and a classic maple top for the typical Les Paul sound. The neck has a slim "Slim Taper" profile and a contoured neck base that allows unimpeded access to the high positions of the fingerboard, so that every note goes easily out of your fingers when playing the electric guitar. The Gibson Les Paul Studio 2017 HP Lefthand with its Gibson 490R and 498T pickups delivers modern humbucker sounds for every kind of music, which cannot deny their close relationship to the legendary PAFs. Two push/pull potentiometers, whose mode of operation can be changed via internal DIP switches, also provide additional tones. In addition, the electric guitar is equipped with the Gibson G-Force tuning system, which automatically puts the guitar in the right tuning and makes different tunings easily accessible.
No-Frills Paula for purists
In 2017 the high performance model of the Gibson USA line-up follows the proven LP studio motto "Biggest Bang for the Buck" and focuses on playability and sound. With the new soloist Slim Taper Neck with Fast Access Heel, playing in the high positions is pleasant and smooth, while a G-Force Auto Tuning System at the headstock in combination with the Zero-Fret Nut made of titanium ensures perfect tuning results at the push of a button.
490R & 498T Humbucker
Gibson's 490R and 498T on neck and bridge conjure up the sound of the late sixties when the blues became harder and rocker. The pickups with slightly increased output remain dynamic and deliver a whole sound world from the brutely hot humbucker sound to the soft woman tone in different volume and tone potentiometer settings. Last but not least, the internal DIP switch enables various assignable switching options such as coil splits using the push/pull function of the two volume potentiometers.
